Vince Adams reviewed the superintendent-evaluation workflow and deadlines during the Oct. 9 work session. He told the board there is a contractual deadline of April 30 for the evaluative statement that goes into the superintendent’s HR file and described the practical workflow he uses: a survey tool, synthesis of results, and pairing with the superintendent’s self-evaluation.
Adams said the Targeted Feedback Survey (TFS) "is included this year and typically goes out in January for 2–3 weeks." Board members discussed targeting March for ratings and narrative work (to be conducted in executive session) and agreed that moving the retreat to July would better align the calendar to support the evaluation flow. The board also discussed collecting artifacts throughout the year to support informed evaluation and using a pre- and post-assessment for board data-literacy goals.
No formal action was taken; Adams will provide templates and suggested calendars for board consideration so the board can finalize the evaluation schedule.
