Pitman PD: Corporal E.J. Parker and K‑9 Mike begin official training; parking enforcement emphasized

Councilman Uyehara told the council that Corporal E.J. Parker and K‑9 Mike began their official training at the New Jersey State Police K‑9 Training Academy; there had been an orientation the prior Friday and formal training began the day of the meeting. He extended the council’s best wishes for their success.
Uyehara relayed thanks from the family and friends of Virginia Beach Police Officer Christopher Reece for Pitman PD’s handling of notifications following the officer’s death. The council also reiterated that Borough parking lots are enforced for overnight parking because abandoned vehicles create liability and safety concerns; Chief McAteer and PPD supervisors (Lt. Streater, Sgt. Carson) were named as contacts for questions.
