Polk County board accepts assessor recommendations on 70 protests; 26 parcels' values lowered

Vice Chairman Mike Boss moved that the board accept the Assessor’s recommendations on all protests; the motion was seconded by Boruch and carried on a roll-call vote (Boss, aye; Boruch, aye). Assessor Krance was present for the review. The board noted that one protest had been withdrawn after filing with the County Clerk.
The board recorded that valuations were lowered for 26 parcels and left unchanged for 43 parcels. The minutes list parcel-level outcomes across multiple subdivisions and rural tracts, with several entries specifying new valuations (for example, Jeffrey L. Kroese’s tract was lowered to $129,605 and Frontier Cooperative Co. had two lowered valuations entered: $89,125 and $35,440). The clerk prefaced the list with "The following action was taken." The meeting convened at 1:00 p.m. and adjourned at 2:05 p.m.
County Clerk Debra S. Girard signed the minutes as approved alongside Vice Chairman Mike Boss. The board also noted that a current copy of the Open Meetings Act was posted in the meeting room as required.
