Director Jackson supports moving reclassification forward but flags compensation concerns

"I'm all for moving it forward so that it can actually have an opportunity to be reconsidered for reclassification," Director Jackson said, while adding she did not want to interfere with the collective bargaining process and that compensation adjustments may be delayed until after the union contract timeline. She said HR and union discussions had clarified portions of the application and that the matter had been pursued for several years.
Director Jackson recommended moving the reclassification forward so the position can be reconsidered, but she and councilmembers noted that any pay changes would likely hinge on future bargaining and could be pushed out to 2026.
