Decatur planning staff recommended and the Planning & Zoning Commission on Aug. 4 voted to forward a proposed amendment to the city’s comprehensive plan to city council.
"So the proposed land use is activity center, which is consistent with the comprehensive plan for the primary land use of retail, commercial, service, office uses and an automotive dealership as stated is proposed for this site," Planning Director Lisa Hannon said when she entered the staff report for CP260002. The amendment would change the future land-use designation for the parcel at 3260 S. US Highway 287 to reflect retail and commercial uses to accommodate the applicant’s plan for an automotive dealership.
Commission discussion on the amendment was brief; the applicant’s presentation was incorporated into the record for all three related applications. Commissioner Mason Woodruff moved to recommend approval of CP260002 in accordance with staff recommendations and Commissioner Brad Morgan seconded. The motion carried and the amendment will be forwarded to the Decatur City Council for consideration.
