Commissioners accept county clerk's resignation and set application process for replacement
The court accepted the resignation of Vanessa, the county clerk, and directed HR to post the vacancy immediately on the county website and in the Navasota Examiner (Sept. 10), with applications due by 4:30 p.m. Sept. 19 and review/appointment anticipated on Sept. 24.

The court accepted Vanessa's resignation as Grimes County Clerk and clarified that, under constitutional obligations, the clerk remains in a holdover capacity until a replacement is appointed. County attorney staff advised the court the clerk must maintain the office until an appointee is in place.
