Carrie with Elko Dispatch reported the center handled 5,179 calls last month, including 1,584 calls to 911 and several large incidents such as structure fires and a shooting. She said the recent NGA migration has resolved many phone-routing and audio-quality issues but Exacom is capturing recordings in a format that is difficult to use without additional processing.
Carrie said the department will install new Zetron radio consoles July 20–23; the installation and furniture decommission will temporarily reduce available positions to two and may cause disruption. “It seems to have fixed most of our phone issues,” Carrie said of the NGA migration, but she added, “It’s picking up the recordings, but it’s not formatting them in a way that’s super useful for us.”
