The board approved awarding a construction contract to Stonehouse Drilling & Construction LLC for $339,450 to perform exploration drilling for a new municipal well to support long‑term water supply planning for the town of Jackpot. County staff said the project has state funding available (about $339,600) that will cover the bid, and that the county's consulting engineer reviewed the submission and found it responsive and consistent with the engineering estimate.
Commissioners asked whether the amount covered exploratory drilling only and how many test locations would be drilled; staff said the bid covered exploration work and that more than one test well may be required but specific quantities were not yet determined. The motion to award the contract passed on a voice vote.
