Lawrence County planning staff presented an amendment to the Deer Mountain Village master plan that adds approximately 61 acres into the existing planned unit development and updates road and water schematics.
"So we've added that 61 acres into the rest of the development," staff said while walking through red‑lined changes and the updated maps. Board members reviewed revisions to lot counts, road sections and water schematics and discussed the constraints imposed by the available water taps. Staff noted the developer's water system design and drainage analysis would be part of the forthcoming preliminary plat materials.
After questions and brief discussion the board moved to recommend the master plan amendment and the companion development agreement to the county commission; the board's recommendation will be included when the county commission takes up the item for its second reading. The county commission's next actions and details about final tap allocation remain subject to follow‑up.
