Parents tell commission modulars are needed to support students with learning differences

Several parents and residents urged the Planning and Zoning Commission to approve modular classrooms, saying the units would provide critical space for special-education services, music and study halls and that the school serves local families.

Multiple parents spoke in favor of the Lucas Christian Academy request, saying the modular classrooms would create dedicated space for programs that currently operate in hallways and the cafeteria. "We're not asking to grow. This isn't gonna affect the traffic that's already there," said Sean Watts, a Lucas resident and parent, who said the school helps students who benefit from programs such as WAR (Warriors for Academic Readiness).
