County unveils website overhaul plan using CivicPlus and Civic Optimize to digitize forms and workflows

Communications Director Christine Travis briefed commissioners on the county’s website contracts and a rollout plan for CivicPlus services, Acquia Optimize (formerly Monsido) accessibility scans and Civic Optimize (a CivicPlus module) to digitize workflows. Travis said the county has reduced active public pages from about 5,000 to roughly 500 and will use Civic Optimize to automate internal routing for contract approvals and to move external forms (for example, burn-permit applications and contractor registration) online.

"Civic Optimize is going to help us not only create accessible compliant forms, but digitize that workflow," Christine Travis said, describing an implementation window of roughly eight weeks and an annual cost she estimated at about $8,000. Commissioners asked about staff training and customer uptake; Travis said implementation includes training and that departments are piloting low-complexity forms first. The board asked staff to return with a demonstration after the launch period.
