Departments present FY budget requests during afternoon workshop

Beginning at 1:00 p.m., department heads presented their budget requests to the Board of Commissioners as part of afternoon budget workshops. Jessica Roach presented Assessor requests related to GIS and a revaluation; James Richardson requested an additional full-time position for Building & Grounds maintenance; Ruth Hale and Deanna Poulson sought increased capital vehicles funding for the Extension Office.
Carl Anderson and Ruth Hale presented the Fair's request, which included additional funding for bleachers at the Mud Lake fairgrounds. Tammy Adkins presented the Probation budget request; Rebecca Squires presented Emergency Management's request; Garn Herrick presented Data Processing (IT) and noted software cost increases tied to Microsoft Outlook services. Planning & Zoning, Solid Waste, Road & Bridge and Noxious Weeds & Invasive Species each presented their requests later in the afternoon.
The session recorded departmental presentations and requests but did not show final budget decisions; the board will consider these requests as part of the formal budget process.
