B-cycle operator turnover and contract through 2027 discussed

Staff updated the commission that the regional bike-share operator has had leadership changes: a local manager left, an interim regional manager (Brian Conger) is overseeing operations and a tech lead (Michael Krieger) remains as the contact for installs, uninstalls and balancing.
"When BTS made that acquisition, Helen moved into a development role... so we've worked with Chris for the past year or so. She is no longer with BTS," staff said, adding that Fitchburg remains under contract through the end of 2027. Committee members said they anticipate future conversations next year about whether to extend the contract, change the number of stations or reallocate station locations.
Committee members also noted reports that Bicycle Transit Solutions may be rebranding as "Revolution." Staff said internal discussions with city staff and partners will take place to determine Fitchburg—s preferences for the program going forward.
