Designers add shade structures and seating in revised Kids Crossing renderings
After public feedback, designers included interior shade structures and full-size trees in updated Kids Crossing renderings and confirmed numerous seating elements; commissioners welcomed the change but asked for clarity on sightlines and surfacing impacts.

Designers said they restored previously omitted shade structures and increased the visual size of trees in the updated renderings to reflect community feedback. Katie, a member of the design team, said the rendering now shows a centralized shade structure with multiple benches beneath it and full-size trees that will begin to shade playground equipment.
