Shelby County repeals CO2 pipeline liaison position, effective April 1
The board adopted Resolution No. 2026-18 on March 17, 2026, repealing the prior creation of a CO2 pipeline liaison and eliminating the position effective April 1, 2026.

The Shelby County Board of Supervisors voted to repeal Resolution No. 2025-9 and eliminate the county CO2 pipeline liaison position effective April 1, 2026. The earlier position, created January 21, 2025, had been intended to assist the board with issues surrounding a proposed CO2 pipeline; the board determined the position is "no longer necessary or feasible." The repeal was approved unanimously.
