Tiffany Simmons of the Potomac Highlands Guild read a proclamation at the Aug. 4 Pendleton County Commission meeting declaring "September 2026 as Pendleton County Goes Purple to observe National Recovery Month." The commission voted unanimously to approve and sign the proclamation on a motion by Commissioner Jimmie Bennett.
