Pendleton County Commission approves financial disbursements, proclamations and appointments

The Pendleton County Commission met at the county courthouse on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, and took a series of procedural and fiscal actions, voting unanimously on minutes, financial allowances, appointments and settlements. Commissioners Carl Hevener, Roger Dahmer and Jimmie Bennett were present.
On a motion by Commissioner Roger Dahmer, the commission approved the July 21, 2026 meeting minutes. The body also approved a proclamation — read by Tiffany Simmons of the Potomac Highlands Guild — and a number of financial disbursements spanning funds including the General County Fund ($15,994.75) and the 911 Fund ($70,704.55). The minutes list check number ranges and totals by fund but do not record individual vendor names beyond the check ranges.
The commission unanimously confirmed administrator and executor appointments presented by the clerk, including reopening the Estate of E. Hadley Brown to report additional assets and qualifying Luci Brown as Administratrix cta with a bond set at $100,000.00. Officials also approved final settlement affidavits for several estates and a set of tax exonerations for named taxpayers (for example, Weaver Homes, Inc., $3,352.50; Maria Hottinger, $1,044.00).
Commissioners recorded no dissenting votes on the items noted in the minutes. The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Commissioner Jimmie Bennett and scheduled to reconvene Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026.
