Teachers demonstrate K–2 iPad programs: iReady, Extra Math, BrainPOP and Seesaw

Second-grade teachers Sarah O’Brien and Sandy Westrichel walked the board through daily iPad activities used in their classrooms, demonstrating individualized iReady lessons and an Extra Math fluency module. "IReady is our math curriculum," O’Brien explained, showing how myPath customizes lessons by speed and accuracy; she said students use the program for about 10–15 minutes daily and teachers supplement it with classroom instruction. Teachers said a licensed Extra Math made a notable difference in access compared with the prior free version.
Sandy Westrichel showed BrainPOP Junior’s movie and quiz workflow and highlighted accessibility features (a speaker button) and immediate teacher feedback. Beth Levacoff demonstrated Seesaw’s assignment, recording and feedback features and noted Seesaw was a critical tool during COVID remote learning. Student Ada Mathis described favorite activities: "My favorite activity on the iPad is class dojo when I have Pad Pass," giving a direct pupil perspective on how the devices engage learners.
