The Bosco Economic Development Committee spent the bulk of its July 29 meeting planning this year’s Village for a Day, settling on outreach steps and an advertised event window. The committee agreed to reuse last year’s flyer, update its design in Canva, and send both a flyer and a follow-up letter to vendors asking them to remain through the advertised end time so attendees have consistent expectations.
Chair said the committee’s preferred compromise: “I was just thinking 03:30, and then if it bleeds over to 4, that's fine.” Ian, who shared the draft flyer for review, said shortening the advertised active window could help vendors and improve the appearance of turnout. Members assigned follow-up tasks: Ian will forward the vendor/business list, volunteers will refresh the flyer, and the updated invitation and any required paperwork for food vendors will be sent out by Friday to allow vendors time for insurance and permits. The committee also agreed to solicit vendors from last year first and to add new businesses such as Bloom Dance Center to the outreach list.
