Ely board approves personnel changes and fall coaching lineup

The School Board of ISD No. 696 approved several personnel actions and a list of fall assistant and volunteer coaches during its Aug. 12 meeting.
The personnel consent agenda, moved by Director Colarich and seconded by Clerk Rochelle Sjoberg, included approval of a .20 FTE science overload assignment for Todd Hohenstein for the 2024–25 school year and callbacks for Trenton Flegel and Anna-Lena Forsman to fill two paraprofessional vacancies under the master agreement with AFSCME Local No. 295. The board accepted resignations from paraprofessional Jennifer Spanier and from head softball coach Cory Lassi and assistant coach Megan Wognum, all effective immediately as recorded in the minutes.
On athletics, the board approved recommended fall assistant and volunteer coaches as presented by Athletic Director Tom Coombe. Junior high volleyball coaches Kayci Zorman-Muhvich and Kalley Fischer were approved with stipends paid by the Ely Net Club; junior high football coach Ryan Bush will receive a stipend paid by the Ely TD Club. Volunteer assistant football coaches approved were Troy Oelke, Tim Hogan, Steve Holthaus and Louis Wiggen. Volunteer assistant cross-country coaches approved were Nicole Selmer, Carl Skustad, Megan Devine, Toni Dauwalter and Clara Roy. The motions were recorded as carried (Vote: 5,0).
The board did not record public comment on these personnel items at the meeting.
