Residents press board on downed tree, conservation area upkeep and speed sign project

During the public-comment portion and supervisors' requests, residents raised several operational concerns. Anita Bachragh asked that a downed tree by River 9 Catch Basin #134 be brought upright and expressed that the conservation area needs additional clearing; Operations Manager Shane Willis said staff would review past minutes and requested photos so staff could evaluate and act if necessary.
Christine Mantilia asked about stormwater-management permits and whether fire trucks could draw water from the lakes to lower levels; District Engineer Charlie Krebs said that is not typical and "would also require approval from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD)." Larry Fiesel asked about the speed-sign project; Mr. Willis said Mr. Long is scheduling staff training and will provide an update at the next meeting.
Staff requested that residents submit photographs of areas of concern to help prioritize inspections and potential work.
