Bastrop ISD expands Verizon Innovative Learning partnership; student tech teams highlighted
District staff reported that 53% of teachers increased their level of technology integration and that Creekside and Riverside middle schools were accepted into Cohort 13 of Verizon Innovative Learning Schools; student technology leadership teams spoke about their roles.

Chris Lairscey, Director of Digital Learning & Library Services, presented the district’s Mission Moment on student technology teams and the ongoing partnership with Verizon Innovative Learning Schools. Lairscey said Bastrop Middle School and Cedar Creek Middle School were in the planning phase for full implementation during 2025–2026, and that Creekside Middle School and Riverside Middle School had been accepted into Cohort 13 of the partnership, enabling further expansion.
