Engineer Doug Cade reported that the tax mapping/GIS software currently in use "will not be useable at the end of the year." He said the engineer's office had budgeted $35,000 for an upgrade but after additional research the estimated cost is now about $95,000. Cade requested the commissioners approve an additional appropriation for the increased amount; the commissioners agreed and Cade said he would send the request to the clerk.
Cade and Kyle Parker also updated the board on the Forest Lake Ditch petition; they said the final report will be submitted to the board and once filed a final hearing can be scheduled. Cade requested an executive session later in the day regarding potential litigation, which the board entered at 2:43 p.m. and exited at 3:01 p.m.
