The Ector ISD board voted to authorize and provide hiring authority to the superintendent through Aug. 1, 2026, carrying the motion 5-0 with two trustees absent. Trustee Cody Vest moved the authorization and Trustee Chris Cantrell seconded, according to the meeting minutes.
