Hancock County commissioners approve routine resolutions, appoint apiary inspector

Commissioner Jeffrey Hunker opened the Feb. 3, 2026 meeting of the Hancock County Board of Commissioners at 9:30 a.m. in the commissioners' first-floor conference room. After roll call the board approved the Jan. 29, 2026 minutes on a 2-0 vote following a motion by Commissioner William Bateson and a second from Commissioner Jeffrey Hunker.
The board approved several administrative items by voice vote. Commissioners authorized the chair's signature on updated cost-allocation plans for Job & Family Services programs and Child Support Enforcement programs, the Hancock County Landfill cost-allocation plan, and the Hancock Soil & Water Conservation cost-allocation plan. The commissioners also approved a travel request covering Engineer and Maumee Watershed Conservancy expenses totaling $6,165.39. Resolution #76-26 (payment of listed purchase orders) and Resolution #77-26 (an intra-appropriation transfer within the Guardianship Services Board Fund #8250) were approved 2-0.
In one personnel action, the board approved Resolution #78-26 appointing Dan Harmon as Hancock County Apiary Inspector for 2026. All motions recorded in the minutes passed on 2-0 votes; Commissioner Timothy Bechtol was listed as absent. The meeting record was submitted by Assistant Clerk Christine Carrigan.
