Board approves $77,000 ceiling-tile replacement at Wise Elementary

The Chapel Hill ISD Board on Nov. 17 authorized East Texas Acoustical Inc. to replace ceiling tiles at Wise Elementary for $77,000. Chris Blake, Executive Director of Operations, told trustees the work will cover 23 classrooms, the library and the teachers’ lounge and is part of the district’s Long Range Facility Plan. The motion, made by Hershal Massenburge and seconded by Fred Elder Jr., passed 5-0 with two trustees absent.
Blake said the project had been included in this year’s maintenance plan and that funding was approved by the Board at the July meeting. Trustees did not record additional debate in the minutes; the action was presented as routine facilities work intended to keep campus spaces updated.
