Construction on Flatonia ISD project moves into framing; truss replacement expected in weeks

District architects and the construction contractor updated the board on March 16 that the site concrete slab has been poured and framing work has commenced. Abigail LaRussa, with SZS Architecture, said the team planned to share photos but delayed them because of high winds; she confirmed the slab pour had been completed.
Contractor Zach Mikulenka reported the framing is "going very well" but noted there was a sizing issue with some trusses. "The new trusses should be here in the next 3-4 weeks," Mikulenka said; staff indicated additional finish and material selections will be required in coming weeks. The update did not change the board’s budget approvals at the March meeting.
