Frost ISD approves program donations, purchasing cooperatives and policy updates

The board approved FYSA donations to the baseball and softball programs (motion by Don Ballew, seconded by Jason Curl); authorized district participation in both the TIPS and BuyBoard purchasing cooperatives (motions moved by Josh Martin and Jason Curl, respectively); approved Policy Update 126 to include both LEGAL and LOCAL policy changes (motion by Jason Curl, seconded by Michael Welborn); and approved updates to the district's Guardian Plan (motion by Josh Martin, seconded by Jason Curl). All motions carried 7-0 according to the minutes.
The approvals give district administration authority to accept the donations, use cooperative purchasing mechanisms for procurement, and implement the guardian-plan changes as presented. The minutes do not record further substantive debate or dollar amounts associated with the items.
