Board adds MCC as approved educator preparation program under HB2 delay plan

Dr. Yancey Sanderson, assistant superintendent of administrative services, recommended the board approve a memorandum of understanding adding McLennan Community College (MCC) as an approved educator preparation program in the district's plan to delay implementation of House Bill 2. The MOU was approved by unanimous vote of trustees present (5–0, two absent).
Sanderson told the board that in January the board approved a plan to delay HB2 implementation and that this MOU adds MCC as an approved program within that plan. The action formalizes partnerships the district will use for educator preparation while the district operates under its delay plan.
