Board hears updates to CTE and elective courses, including project‑based capstone

A staff presenter (S12) described updates to course offerings intended to support academy pathways and prepare students for career and college options. New or revised courses mentioned include personal finance and literacy, a level‑1 Spanish class for students not taking credit‑by‑exam, global business, virtual business, sports entertainment marketing, forensic science and 'physics for engineering' (to replace a science credit). Staff also proposed a project‑based capstone experience to give seniors opportunities to apply pathway learning in a practical project.
