Keene ISD trustees voted to move forward with a public bidding process to complete the Thompson Trail project after a request from the superintendent. The motion passed unanimously among trustees present.

The Keene ISD Board of Trustees voted June 1, 2026, to authorize the district to go out for bid to complete work on Thompson Trail. Superintendent Dr. Stephens requested that the district solicit competitive bids to finish the project; the motion to proceed was made by Richard Bothe and seconded by Julio Vazquez and passed 6–0 with one trustee absent.
