"I make a motion to approve the 2006 International Building Code to be utilized in association with construction projects for Gordon ISD," said Sarah Knight, who made the motion. Laura Jones seconded the motion, and the board approved it with five votes in favor; two trustees were recorded as absent. The adoption was presented with information from CW Farris of HPA.
Board members and the administration framed the vote as an administrative step to standardize construction requirements for upcoming projects. No dollar amounts or implementation dates were included in the motion; the board treated the adoption as a specification decision to be incorporated in future contract documents and bid packages.
