During the July 20, 2026 special meeting the Nixon‑Smiley CISD Board of Trustees voted to approve the compensation package as presented. Trustee Bud Box moved the motion and Trustee Chris Villasana seconded; the minutes show trustees Richard Lott, Bud Box, Chris Villasana, Jimmy Newman, Aly Tschoepe, Lester Warzecha and Mark Mendez voted aye.
