Cayuga County IT outlines cybersecurity plan, AI training and infrastructure projects

IT Director Tom Bunn told the committee the department is drafting a comprehensive Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan, rolling out AI training countywide (78% complete as of May 1), and progressing on network and ERP planning including fiber installs and an upcoming Tyler Technologies assessment.

Tom Bunn, speaking for the county Information Technology department, reported April helpdesk activity and a suite of ongoing projects including cybersecurity planning, AI training, shared services with the City of Auburn and an ERP assessment. "441 new support tickets were created" in April and "81% of support tickets were resolved," Bunn said, and he described a draft Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan to define roles and procedures for responding to incidents.
