Water‑main replacement progresses; services to be connected after testing

Superintendent Matt told the council the townwide water‑main replacement project is moving along and that the new mainline has been laid in the alleys between South Cle Elum Way and Sixth Street. He said once the pressure test and bacterial sample have been cleared, service connections will begin.
Matt also reported the County has pre-leveled Washington Avenue in preparation for chip seal later this summer. The council discussed traffic and safety concerns: Councilmember McGuire said he looked into Waze for Cities to help with busy weekend traffic, and Councilmember Ditsworth noted she had seen children playing near water mains despite warning signs posted by Fury Site Works.
