Owners request dry hydrant; Selectboard advises pond cleanup and DOH testing; mapping support and MERP update noted

New owners of a property on Chunks Brook Road asked the Selectboard for permission to place a dry hydrant in their pond. Brian Hawley told the board the pond would need to be cleaned before installation could proceed.
Selectboard member Linda Schmidt recommended the property owner contact the Department of Health (DOH) for advice on what testing and reclamation steps are required. Linda also noted that the Bennington County Regional Commission (BCRC) has support available for the Listers and in creating the town's Listers' maps; the board agreed she should reach out to learn what BCRC can offer. Linda additionally reported she had emailed Tom Yandow and that he would be prepared to give an update on MERP projects soon.
No formal vote or directive to approve a dry hydrant installation was recorded; the minutes show advice to pursue pond cleanup and state guidance and to explore mapping support from BCRC.
