The superintendent told the board the district has been unable to fully staff custodial positions and asked board approval to pursue an RFP for contracted evening cleaning services to provide a reliable cleaning crew 3–5 days per week.
Board members discussed costs and accountability; one member observed the gym was unusually messy after a recent event and another estimated the cost equivalent of two full-time employees at about $9,500 a month. The chair moved to authorize the RFP process, the motion was seconded, and the board voted to proceed. The superintendent said staff will verify legal and insurance requirements and consult legal counsel on background-check expectations for outside contractors.
