At the April 8 work session, Matt Yoshioka, director of curriculum, instruction and assessment, demonstrated the district's updated FirstView bus-tracking dashboard from First Student. Yoshioka showed the administrator view used by school secretaries and administrators and described features available to families.
Yoshioka said the system provides real-time tracking of buses, timestamps for door-open and door-close events, and arrival-time displays. Parents can download the parent app and set geofence zones to receive notifications when their child's bus enters a defined area. The board discussed the dashboard as a tool to improve communication and student transport oversight; no formal action was taken.
