Students present TRIO program and SNHS plans, including research boat launch

Student representatives Clara Messner and Lara Werelus updated the board on North Bend High School activities: the band is going to state competition and prom is scheduled for May 17 at the Bristol Event Center. TRIO students Emma Meyer, Natalie Morrow and McKenzie Rogers described the benefits of the TRIO program.
Christina Geierman, advisor for the Science National Honor Society, presented SNHS activities and highlighted a field trip to see Jane Goodall in Salem. Geierman said the SNHS plans to launch a small research boat named Hesperia on May 30 to collect current and tide data. The student updates were presented as informational items; no board action was required.
