Gil Bell reported the archery spring session concluded June 20 with strong attendance and improving skills, and he said he would order two youth bows and additional arrows for younger participants. He proposed holding a Blue or Red Shoot day pitting Police vs. Fire and expressed concern that an unauthorized person used the long range and destroyed targets.
Gil said only three people are authorized to use the range on weekdays — Raul Acevedo, Richard Zwebner, and Gil Bell — and those names were given to DPW and Commissioner Portorreal. The Board has contacted Commissioner Portorreal to check progress on obtaining an engineer's report needed to reopen the longer range safely.
