On second reading, the commission adopted ordinance 2024-10-51 to amend Chapter 32 (floodplain and drainage management) of the city code. Dave Dixon, consulting city planner, said the amendments implement recommendations from the Florida Department of Emergency Management and aim to improve the city's Community Rating System (CRS) score, which could help reduce flood insurance premiums for property owners.
