District data show mixed progress; staff will provide cohorted reports

Andrea, a district presenter, told the board that assessment snapshots and benchmark data tell different stories depending on whether trustees follow individual cohorts or compare same grades year‑to‑year. "If we do look at the same group of students, not not cohorting, but from the same from the beginning of the year till now, almost everyone has risen in their proficiency in tier 1," Andrea said while urging trustees to request cohort visualizations back to 2022.
The presentation covered M‑STEP and PSAT secondary results, the iReady benchmark (K–6), and differences between achievement (a snapshot) and growth. Trustees requested cohorted grade‑level reports going back to 2022 and asked staff to annotate those reports where curriculum or program changes occurred so results can be interpreted in context.
