Comal County approved one‑year extensions of irrevocable standby letters of credit as surety for ongoing road and stormwater construction in subdivisions undergoing active buildout. Staff said the work (by Lennar in Canyon Ranch Unit 4 and the developer in Simmons Valley Unit 1) remains in progress and that bonds or letters of credit should be extended to ensure completion of improvements.
Commissioner Crownover moved to approve item 6 (Canyon Ranch extension) and items 7A and 7B (Simmons Valley inside and outside right‑of‑way letters of credit); motions were seconded and carried. Staff noted bonds are split between right‑of‑way work and outside detention/bonding elements.
