"It was recognized that it was essentially being double charged inadvertently because of the the way that the different timing of the fees were related to development," a staff speaker explained during discussion. Councilmember (transcript: speaker 9) moved to approve the amendment and the motion was seconded; a roll-call vote followed and the mayor declared the motion carried.
Council members asked a brief clarifying question about whether the change simply consolidates the fee into a single line; staff confirmed that was the intent. No member requested postponement and the change was approved to take immediate effect under the terms of the consolidated fee schedule process.
