At the June 15 meeting, Commissioners approved a set of six‑month highway and materials bids across numerous categories. The minutes list accepted bidders by bid item: for hot mix and related asphalt items accepted bidders include H.G. Jenkins Construction LLC, Haskell Lemon Group LLC and T & G Construction, Inc.; chips and screenings and other rock products were generally awarded to Dolese Bros Co. and Western Aggregates LLC with some location exceptions; Crafco, Inc. was noted for high performance cold patch; Warren Cat for asphalt recycler teeth; Soil Chem LLC for stabilizing roadbase; and other suppliers were accepted for pipe, lumber, tires, welding gases and structural concrete. Some line items received no bids for granite and gypsum and recycled concrete had no bids received.
The board recorded the awards as part of routine highway procurement and noted operational considerations such as District 3 being discouraged from traveling through the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge with loaded trucks and some location-based award exceptions. The minutes do not include individual dollar amounts for most of the bid categories; the decisions were approved unanimously as part of the agenda motions.
