Commission backs VM Acres plat with recorded easement requirement
Planning commissioners recommended approval of VM Acres Preliminary Plat (one ~5.28-acre lot) after the applicant revised the plat to replace dedicated right-of-way with a road easement to be recorded at Final Plat; vote was 7-0.

County staff reported that the VM Acres applicant (Julie Mellum for property owner Barbara Vanderbilt) amended the Preliminary Plat to provide a recorded road easement in place of a 0.99-acre right-of-way dedication. Beth Gervais said soils verification was complete and the wetland delineation review was pending. The Chisago Lake Town Board recommended approval with the directive: "Road could stay as-is. Easement needs to be recorded in plat." The Planning Commission adopted Resolution PC2026-0703 recommending approval subject to recording the easement and completing wetland review.
