City Administrator Adrian Flores and Rebecca Beam of the Teinert Memorial Library presented a proposed library–school partnership to Bartlett ISD trustees, outlining shared use of library space, volunteer-supported workshops, and coordinated programming for students and the community.
Flores said the city is seeking a library coordinator and a school point of contact and noted the library has extra space for school use, meetings and weekend events. He suggested integrating library programming with existing district activities such as the district’s summer camp and using district transportation and instructional staff to promote events. Rebecca Beam said the library currently relies on volunteers and would like to create workshops for children.
Superintendent Theodore Clevenger recommended creating an interlocal agreement between the library and district and adding library news to the district website and Facebook page to boost awareness. The presentation did not include a finalized agreement or timeline; next steps discussed were drafting an interlocal agreement and identifying district and city contacts to develop specifics.
