District administrators briefed the Board on three interlocking operational topics: a preview of the 2026–2027 Student Code of Conduct (SCOC), a program-evaluation framework and the district’s technology innovation roadmap.
Chief Operations Officer Dr. Michael Hill said the SCOC review committee — composed of students, teachers, parents and staff — reviewed legal changes and stakeholder feedback and worked to align the draft SCOC language with the model provided by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). Dr. Hill said the SCOC will be brought back to the Board at a future meeting for formal approval.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. Natalie Lopez and Director Dr. Genea Stewart described the Program Evaluation Self-Inventory Toolkit distributed to staff and the Program Evaluation Calendar Committee (PECC) that will review submissions and identify programs for the first cycle of internal and external evaluations. The stated goal is to establish systemwide expectations and evidence-based decision-making to assess whether district investments are producing intended outcomes.
Chief Technology Officer Kyle Berger reported recent accomplishments — student focus groups to improve the digital experience, expansion of Cybersecurity P-TECH, ERP modernization and asset audits — and previewed upcoming work including an in-house internship model, Bond Program deployments and neighborhood enrollment events to expand access and awareness of district programs.
