Brenham ISD highlights CTE program growth: 1,451 students enrolled

Travis Gonzales told the Brenham ISD board that career and technical education (CTE) programs currently involve 1,451 individual students and 2,348 seat-hours when counting students taking multiple courses.
Gonzales said 71 students already have passed industry-based certifications and the district expects to test roughly 300–350 more students by mid-May. "CTE enrollment, we are at a 100 I mean, 1,451 students," Gonzales said, and he emphasized CTSO activities and contests that send students across the state. Trustees praised the scale of the program and the staff for sustaining participation with limited resources.
Gonzales also summarized student-organizations participation (about 959 students across CTSOs) and travel for contests—"we participated in about a 150 contests, traveling to a 100 to a 115 unique events"—as evidence of hands-on learning that prepares students for post-secondary careers. Board members requested continued updates as strategic planning considers facility needs to support CTE expansion.
