Commissioners raised a vacant code‑enforcement position during the Feb. 9 meeting and staff described who will provide interim coverage.
Commissioner David Early asked about code enforcement and Mr. Ableman replied that "Brandon Minter is stepping up to help along with Cheney’s Fire Marshal stepping up to help as they have authority to write tickets." Ableman said he and Mayor Martin are discussing filling the vacant position. Terry Mourning added that he has the authority to perform zoning code inspections and enforce zoning violations.
No hiring decision was recorded at the meeting; staff described interim arrangements and indicated a personnel process is underway with mayoral involvement.
